Allow some time to edit after submitting a suggestion

Let suggestion makers edit their suggestions for a short length of time after each submission. How long do you think the allowance time to edit should be?

Unlimited, you should always be able to view your suggestions and edit them.

I disagree, because the difference between a user's up-vote and down-vote is sometimes only a word or two in a suggestion. If you have a suggestion poster come back to modify his or her suggestion after a month, all the users that voted on the suggestion in that month didn't get a fair chance to review the same suggestion that new users are voting on.

It'd be cool if FeVote allowed unlimited time to edit suggestions, but it'd have to be done in a manner that is fair to those voting as well. Any ideas?
