Disable Chat

Any feature added should have the option of being turned off.

I would like to turn off the integrated Facebook chat application but I can't. I find this extremely bothersome.

Can you please code a way for chat to be turned off. I don't wish to be messaged by everyone in my friends list, yet I still want to appear online at times possible.
