Submit alternative news source sites

When a news source site is down, inaccurate, or causes a threat to ones computer somebody else could have found another source site to submit next to the original link on digg. This will also be good when someone tries to submit a listed story but on a different site in case, they can simply use their link to add as an alternative.

I wonder if this idea can be used or modified to combat the rare news story that links to just a 'picture' that claims to be news but actually lacks a real source?
If you knew where the real source was, you could use this idea to add that source to the story, solving the problem.

If no source can be found... what can be done then?
Should news stories be submitted without reputable or even semi-reputable sources in the first place?

I seriously think this idea will be useful and convenient you wont get fooled into a good new title and there's nothing on the other side. This way, people don't try to go out and find another website and post the same thing just because the link to the other news post didnt work.
