It'd be interesting. It'd be fun. But I think it's unlikely.

High-traffic forums would require a lot of moderation and a lot of attention. We could provide some moderation in the form of thumbs up/down à la the Digg comment system. But the extra attention needed to actually maintain the forums (spammers/abusers/housekeeping) is probably well beyond the scope of the Digg team.

I've seen this request brought up a lot lately. Hope it sees the light of day.

Forums are a bad idea, the site should focus on delivering news content and creative and useful comments. Forums would be a waste of time...
