"Activist" community functionality

Lots of Digg users have oustanding ideas and feedback that make the conversations on Digg great. However, I'd guess that these users typically post their well-developed opinions on Digg, and move on to posting elsewhere or posting other well-developed opinions on other topics.

I would love to see real-life action taken based on the highest collective intelligence of the Digg community. While it risks users temporarily stepping away from the Digg site, the benefits would be great.

Some typical examples, based on topics I've seen on Digg:

1) A group of Digg users establishing real-life contact with the most appropriate organizations, and taking action together.

2) Updating related Wikipedia articles, so they are a strong ongoing way to monitor latest developments.

3) Provide pointers to the best training resources, so Digg community members take training at the same time and can form bonds in the process.

I'm not sure my concept is clear, but basically I'd love to see a way where the Digg community continues to act together, even when they're not sitting in front of the Digg site.

I'm not sure if this is an "Activist" section on each post, or what the best way is to do it, but would love additional comments/feedback to help develop the concept.
