Smart Headphone Jacks

see i figure that the average iPod user gets his cord yanked out of his ipod like twice a day. So i'm thinking, how bout if there's a touch sensor in the iPod jack so that if the headphones get ripped out the music/video/slideshow pauses. Then you can plug em in, hit play and u wont have missed a minute. Genius?
